Service agreement

This agreement enables the homeowner and pet sitter to agree terms of what is expected from each party regarding the house/pet sitting assignment.

Throughout the document the term ‘Sitter’ refers to the dog sitter.

No persons or pets other than specifically included for in this Agreement are permitted to live at the premises during the term of this Agreement.

Homeowner Responsibilities

The Homeowner agrees to:

• Provide all food, equipment, and supplies required for the care of their dogs, or reimburse Serendipawty K9 Care for any necessary purchases made during the assignment.
• Arrange and accept responsibility for payment of any veterinary treatment required during the booking.
• Provide full details of all pets requiring care, including routines, medical needs, and behavioural information.
• Give at least seven days’ notice of any changes to the agreed start date of the house-sitting assignment.
• Ensure the property is clean, safe, and suitable for occupancy.
• Provide Serendipawty K9 Care with access to the property, including a set of keys where required.
• Inform Serendipawty K9 Care of any expected visitors to the property during the booking, including whether they hold their own key.
• Provide internet access where available and agreed.

Sitter Responsibilities

Serendipawty K9 Care agrees to:

• Take all reasonable steps to ensure the health, safety, comfort, and wellbeing of the dogs in their care.
• Respect the property and neighbours by avoiding nuisance, disturbance, or damage.
• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the home throughout the assignment.
• Notify the Homeowner promptly of any damage or issues affecting the property.
• Dispose of household rubbish and recycling as instructed.
• Follow all agreed security procedures to safeguard the property and its contents.
• Not leave the dogs unattended for extended periods and never leave unwell dogs alone.
• Remain at the property overnight unless otherwise agreed or in the case of an emergency.
• Provide their own food, toiletries, and personal items.

Animal Care Requirements

The Homeowner agrees to:

• Provide details of each animal covered under this agreement, including feeding routines, exercise requirements, medications, and special care instructions.
• Ensure all pets are up to date with vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and worming treatments where appropriate.
• Ensure outdoor areas used by the dogs are clean and safe before the assignment begins.
• Provide an emergency contact who can take responsibility for the dogs if required during the Homeowner’s absence.

The Homeowner confirms that all dogs are in good health, free from contagious illness and parasites, and have received appropriate vaccinations. The Homeowner also agrees to inform Serendipawty K9 Care of any illness, infection, or health concern affecting their dog(s).

Payments & Reimbursements

The Homeowner agrees to reimburse Serendipawty K9 Care for:

• Veterinary or animal-related expenses incurred while caring for the pets listed in this agreement.
• Emergency repairs or pre-approved maintenance costs, provided:
  • Serendipawty K9 Care was not in breach of this agreement when the issue occurred;
  • Reasonable efforts were made to contact the Homeowner or nominated emergency contact before action was taken;
  • Receipts or proof of payment are provided for all expenses incurred.

• I give my permission for pictures of my dogs to be used on social media as long as there are no identifying marks to show personal information including my address.
• I will ensure that I will inform Serendipawty K9 Care of the locations of any indoor security cameras and provide them with clear instructions on how to turn them off at the start of the service, and how to turn them back on again before they leave.
• I confirm I have been given a copy of the Terms and Conditions.
